Does anybody currently use a laptop wireless card (USB) for their Mac?

I am considering and was looking to hear of your experiences before I purchase,

Thanks,

Kevin

Are you referring to USB cards like the Verizon EVDO service? If so, those work fine. That is not quite the same as WiFi or what Apple call AirPort. If you are looking for a USB wifi adapter to replace the Apple AirPort wireless, then those are hard to find now days, but Belkin made one that worked a few years back.

Hi Rick,
I was referring to the broadband type internet connection tools vs the equipment needed to connect via wifi at home or Starbucks…

I think Verizon, Sprint and ATT have offers and I was looking for somebody with personal experience with this. I did talk to Sprint and what they offer is more $ than I want to spend for the occassional need.

Thanks for the reply.

The Verizon service is the more popular of the choices here on Maui. The EVDO service is a bit faster. It is not fast enough for video conferencing though. I have a few clients using this for internet access on Maui in areas that do not have DSL or Road Runner in the area. For occasional use, it is not worth it. It is typically a choice for those who need it on a daily basis.
