Topic: Can an iPad Replace a Mac?

With the iPad becoming a powerful tablet device, Apple has introduced attachable keyboards with trackpads and the Apple Pencil. we will take a look this month and see if the iPad is capable of replacing your Mac computer for everyday use. We will take a look at the pros and cons of tablet computing.

June 2022 MAUS Meeting

Topic: Privacy in an Online world

Location: MVB Building in Kahului and via Group FaceTime

As the world has shifted to online for most things now, we will take a look at how to protect your privacy online. We will take a look at privacy settings on your apple devices, social media privacy, two factor authentication, and how to request info from companies on what information they have stored about you.

Welcome Back- May 2022 MAUS Meeting

We are back! This has been a unique year to say the least. We will be having an online zoom meeting, Tuesday, December 15, at 4:30. This will be our first virtual Zoom meeting. We will be covering two major topics. First off, we will explain how contact tracing works with the iPhone and here in Hawaii. In light of the current local and national pandemic our in-person meetings are cancelled until further notice. UH Maui College is currently closed to the public. We are working on ways to bring you online content and remote meetings. We will try and post news here and in our monthly newsletter as time permits. Online March 2020 MAUS Meeting

Topic: Spring Cleaning

Sorry for the delay in posting our March meeting information. We were waiting for some clarification from the college on room use. Because of the late notice, we will be doing an online meeting this month. If you can’t join us live, remember you can watch the meeting at a later time.

On tap this month is Spring Cleaning. We are going to focus on three areas.

  1. Apple recommendations for keeping your Mac and iOS devices physically clean. Also we will discuss some good internal cleaning to keep your computer running optimally.
  2. Cleaning up applications, duplicates, downloads, and other software that clutters up your storage on your Mac and iOS devices.
  3. Organizing your Folders and Files on your Mac.

You can tune in 6PM HST for the live stream of the presentation at this link. If you can’t attend the live stream, the meeting video recording will be posted on our website along with a recap.

As always we will be available to answer all your Apple related questions at the beginning of the meeting.
